This page tells about our library, its mission, its rules and policies, and the important role that libraries play in education. There is also a short autobiography about myself.

"When I got my library card, that's when my life began." I grew up on the south side of Youngstown and lived with my dad, my three sisters (I'm the oldest) and my grandmother. My mother died when I was only 7, and I still miss her to this day. After graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School, I went on to Youngstown State University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education. (Later, I earned my Master's Degree in Library Science at Kent State.)
I actually began teaching second grade at St. Matthias School when I was only 19 years old and taught there for 22 years. As more and more technology was being made available to educators, I became somewhat of a pioneer in using computers in our school and eventually, I became a member of the technology team for the entire Youngstown Diocese. In 1995, there was an opening in the Lakeview School District for a library media specialist. Because of their reputation for excellence, I applied for the position and was hired. And I have been a proud Bulldog ever since! By the way, I currently live in Hubbard with one cat (Morgan) and one husband (Donald). (The better looking one is pictured here. Ha, ha!) "I cannot overstate the power of libraries in my life." |

You can help! Keeping the links on a website up-to-date is a very difficult thing for one person to do. So I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know (by clicking here) if you find links that are no longer active. Plus, if you find any new cool educational sites, let me know about those too, Thanks.
