This page provides an overview of Right-to-Read Week. And , as always, a very special thanks to our PTO for their continuing support of our reading activities.

Celebrating Right to Read Week is one way to stress the importance of reading in our society. Fostering a lifelong love of reading is an important goal because we know that good reading skills are essential for success in many subject areas. The role of reading celebrations is acknowledged in the Ohio Department of Education Guidelines and Benchmarks for School Libraries. By sustained silent reading, by reading to others, by discussing the books we read and enjoy, we encourage students to develop lifetime reading habits and a love of literature.
Mrs. S. spent the past summer out in the Wilds, reading with the animals. Now that she is back at school, she is wild with excitement. Along with all her new friends, (both human and animal) Mrs. S. is planning a READING SAFARI. Hope you'll be able to join her in this years new reading adventure.

You can help! Keeping the links on a website up-to-date is a very difficult thing for one person to do. So I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know (by clicking here) if you find links that are no longer active. Plus, if you find any new cool educational sites, let me know about those too, Thanks.
